Beau Hardeman Chess Tutelage

March 11, 2011

Dear Chess Parent(s),

The 17th annual USCF rated scholastic (K-12) invitational chess tournament for my students, current and past, and select guests will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the same location as before, Gresham Park Recreational Center, starting at 10:00 am.  Registration begins [for those not pre-registered] at 9:00 a.m.  The admission fee is $15 for those who pre-register (pay in advance) on or before May 1st, $20 afterwards.  If the participant is un-rated or if his or her USCF membership has expired then—at the minimum—an additional $15 scholastic membership is required [through me or online @ www.uschess.org].

I apologize that the date, like last year, may conflict with the Ga. State Championship (adult) tournament.  For those seriously considering the State, you could elect to take a bye my last round and make both.  Remember, my tournament was won one year by a player taking a bye the last round!

R. S. V. P. by e-mail (beaureguard@mindspring.com) or voice mail (404-522-0565).  For those who can attend, you may mail your check to me at the address above or, in the case of current students; you may deliver it in person at lesson time.

I always aim for at least 32 participants, the perfect number for a 5 round Swiss system tournament.  The cutoff will be 50.  So, please reply early to be assured a place.

More information, including directions, can be found on my web site: www.beaureguard.org .  Feel free to contact me with any additional questions at the number above or by e-mail.

If you received this communication in hard copy form and would like to receive communication by e-mail, please mail your address to the above.

For families with chess playing siblings, remember there will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for 2-sibling teams.

Good moves to you,

Beau
